My Meet and Greet with Dream Theater!
Whoa… what happened to my lack of posts over the summer?
Summer flew by and I have been busier than ever. Don’t worry though - I promise you guys I will have more posts up very soon, including the next post in my series on research. Also coming up very, very soon is a special interview with a well-known guy in the industry.. So, stay tuned!
That being said, my first post back now that summer’s over has nothing to do with internet marketing. In fact, this is one of the few posts I have that go into the “Personal” category but I just had to post this.
Anyway - on September 26th, I made one of my long time dreams come true: I got to meet my favorite band of all time; Dream Theater, in person! You guys who know me from Wickedfire know that I’m a hardcore fan of this band, and that their music truly means something special to me.
So I got myself a “VIP Meet and Greet” ticket for their recent concert here in Norway. Got my picture taken with them, and had them all sign the ever so epic album Images And Words. I wasn’t the only fan there of course, but I did get to thank them in person for the music they have made and for the impression they have left in my life.

All the guys in the band were really cool and down to earth. I will definitely be doing this the next time I get a chance to!
So - have any of you had a chance to meet your favorite bands, artists, actors, whatever?

Wow, awesome that you got to meet them, mustve been a cool feeling. Didn’t know you’re that tall…damn, you tower over those guys!
I came very close to meeting Metallica after I snuck backstage at a concert in Japan. Unfortunately my keys gave me away and security came. I have hung out with a few of my favorite bands such as Gamma Ray when they came to Japan. Actually hung out with them for like 4 or 5 hours drinking beers…was a great time!
Looking forward to those new posts. I gotta checkout your Keyword Rockstar review…I’m thinking about getting it.

Haha, yeah. When I walked up to them, John Petrucci said “I didn’t know big elf was gonna show up..”.
Big Elf was the name of one of the opening bands, lol.
It was awesome indeed to meet them. They are such great guys too.

Thanks for posting man…
I’ll never forget being in college, the year was 1995 (yeah I’m old now
and I was a subscriber to TNMS (let’s see if you know what that is! :), and looking for some new bands to check out… some people there raved about this band “Dream Theater” (of course most people mispelled it “Dream Theatre”)…. I went to the local CD shop and scoffed up the only album they had, A Change of Seasons…. Yep, this was the type of music I was searching for….good “hard rock prog” is how I thought of it. Since then I’ve bought most of their albums (I confess I haven’t bought one since 6 Degrees tho!), and have “wasted” many many hours listening to their chops (not to mention getting into LTE as well
Again thanks for posting… and hey how about a follow-up on the content network? That initial post you made was nothing short of epic.
